South Carolina Elementary School Shooting Wounds 2

Update: On the afternoon of Sept. 28, a shooting at Townville Elementary School in South Carolina left two 6-year-old boys and a first-grade teacher injured, Anderson County's Capt. Garland Major confirmed. Less than an hour after the attack, a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody. Later that day, the suspect's grandparents found his father, Jeffrey Dewitt Osborne, shot to death in his home about 3 miles away from the school, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore. The investigation of Osborne's death is ongoing.

Earlier: Local reports are coming in about a school shooting in Townville, South Carolina, with officials telling media that at least two children have been wounded. According to a county official, the injuries sustained by the children are not life-threatening, though at least one child appears to have been airlifted after the incident.

While the total number of victims has not yet been confirmed by authorities, in addition to the two child victims, one adult male has been reportedly found dead, according to The Greenville News. They also report that the suspect, who is in custody, may be a teenager.

The Greenville News report goes on to say the incident began around 2 p.m., according to social media, when witnesses reported on social media seeing dozens of emergency vehicles heading toward the school. The school has been closed, and the other students have been evacuated to a church nearby to be picked up by their parents. Townville Elementary School has 286 students between the grades of pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.
