Alec Baldwin Isn't A Fan Of Trump

Alec Baldwin debuted his Donald Trump impression on the premiere of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 1 and it was absolutely uncanny. The former 30 Rock actor nailed the GOP Presidential candidate's mannerisms, voice, and skin tone so accurately that I seriously thought Trump was making a cameo appearance on the NBC variety show. The impression was so good that you might wonder if the actor is a Trump fan. But what Alec Baldwin has said about Donald Trump shows that Baldwin wanted to see the businessman run for president, but isn't rooting for him to win.

Back in May, Baldwin spoke out against Trump on The Ellen DeGeneres Show without saying his name, but it was obvious who he was talking about. "I think two things," he told DeGeneres. "I think beyond having someone become the president, to have them elected president, who is going to do the greatest amount of good for the most people." He continued with a more pointed insult to the Republican candidate: "And the second thing, I think, is we don’t really want a president who looks like he’s been dipped in movie popcorn butter." Watch his comments in the video below, starting at 4:43. They are not kind words from the actor, whose former co-star Tina Fey suggested him for the role of Trump, according to USA Today.

But in July 2015, Baldwin told Howard Stern in an interview that Trump as the Republican nominee would be “exactly what we deserve right now with the system we have.” And then this time, he mentions Trump by name: “I would love to see Trump be the Republican nominee, and run for president." Watch the comments in the video below.

And it looks like Baldwin got his wish.
