5 Cool 'Stranger Things' Manis You Need To Try

by Chanel Vargas

One of the top Netflix hits of the summer, Stranger Things is an '80s adventure-mystery that sweeps you into the world of the Upside Down and leaves you hooked. If you still haven’t gotten over the hype of it all, don’t worry! We’ve got you covered with these Stranger Things nail art ideas.

When it comes to nail art, there’s plenty of room to get creative. After all, who says you can’t have amazing nails while fighting off a blood-thirsty Demogorgon? Okay, maybe Mike and the gang wouldn't be the first to jump on the nail-painting wagon (because Dungeons and Dragons can seriously eat up your day), but just imagine Nancy showing Eleven how to do her nails for the first time — so cute! What better way to express your love for your favorite summer sci-fi show than to have this perfect conversation starter literally at your fingertips?

Even if you don't feel like the master of nail art yourself (I know I could use some practice), these Stranger Things designs are so simple even Steve could get them right the first time around. As long as you have some toothpicks (or something relatively pointy), cotton balls and a little bit of time to spare, you're ready to get started!

Check out the list below for some nail design inspiration, and maybe even try out a few creative nail art ideas of your own.

1. Eleven's Tattoo

It's no secret that Eleven became every Stranger Things fan's favorite telekinetic kid over the summer. We all remember the moment her 011 tattoo was revealed and it sent chills down our spines (Seriously, what happened to the other ten kids before her?). Show your love for El by creating this 011 nail art tattoo, and don't be afraid to add your own finishing touches. I went with a little spatter of blood for that extra spooky, Halloween touch.

2. Eleven's Waffles

There's no doubt about it. Eleven has to have her Eggos. Remind everyone of this fantastic Stranger Things reference by creating your own waffles in honor of Eleven. Add hearts to symbolize her love for the classic breakfast food, or throw in something slightly more reminiscent of Halloween — like some cute bats.

3. Joyce's Christmas Lights

This one is definitely my personal favorite. There are tons of ways to recreate this design by adding different colors and writing your own message beneath the Christmas lights. For my nails, I decided to keep it simple and go with Will's warning for Joyce to "Run," but don't be afraid to get creative and come up with your own, original message. You can even use glitter polish for the light bulb colors to add that extra touch. Check out this YouTube tutorial for even more ideas.

4. Diagram Of The Upside Down

If you've mastered the art of the toothpick (or paint brush, in my case) after trying your hand at all the other designs above, then this should be a cinch. Map out Mr. Clarke's diagram of the acrobat and the flea to demonstrate your knowledge of transcending time and space. All you'll need is a little bit of black and white nail polish.

5. Stranger Things Logo

As complicated as it might look, with a little effort and a steady hand, you can create your very own Stranger Things logo to remind yourself and everyone you shake hands with just what you're all about. Don't forget to add the lines on top to really capture the feel of the logo.

Bonus: Don't Forget Barb!

Barb has become the unsung heroine of the Stranger Things fandom, so we can't forget about her! Pay tribute to Barb with this simple, much-appreciated nail art reminder, "What about Barb?"

Even if you're not exceptional at nail art, you can still end up with some pretty cool designs that look cool from far away (and close up if you're really good)!
