Angelina Jolie Wants to Dress Your Children

by Cherise Luter

Parents tired of princesses and pixie dust-laden Disney kids costumes can breathe a sigh of relief. Angelina Jolie and Stella McCartney to the rescue. The duo have teamed up to create a clothing line inspired by Jolie’s upcoming Sleeping Beauty remake Maleficent, reports WWD, and it is ridiculously cool, obviously.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did. When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance,” McCartney told WWD.

The collection of eight looks will include Maleficent themed costumes and everyday clothing for both girls and boys (I am all over the dragon T-shirt for my son!). Maleficent by Stella McCartney Kids will be sold in Stella McCartney stores and Disney stores by end of April, just in time for the film's premier on May 30. Ten percent of the sales made in Stella McCartney stores and online will benefit SOS Children’s Villages, which works to provide homes for children in need.

Can we start a petition to make Stella McCartney the official designer for all Disney clothing lines?

In 2010, she teamed up with Tim Burton to create a grown up but playful playing card themed jewelry line to commemorate the release of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.

Then in 2009, she featured characters from Bambi in her Fall ad campaign. So cute.

She consistently knocks it out of the park, and she is a Disney fan, so we know she will treat the storybook tales right.

Let’s get on this people. It’s for the children.
