Nun Shocks Judges On 'The Voice of Italy'

There might be an Italian version of The Voice, but is there no Italian version of Sister Act? What else would explain the judges shock when a nun on The Voice of Italy sang "No One" by Alicia Keys? Surely they've seen The Sound of Music. Nuns are great singers! This nun shouldn't be surprising to anyone!

Okay, maybe it should be a little surprising. On The Voice, the judges don't find out who is singing unless they press a button that turns their chair around and shows that they approve and want the singer on their team. Nuns aren't on the show often, so if you hear an Alicia Keys song, you're going to always picture some dressed up pop star hopeful wearing too much makeup because that's usually the case. It makes sense then — even with all the examples of talented nuns from pop culture — that spinning around to see a nun would be a bit shocking.

Scuccia, who is only 25 years old, does a great job with the song which she sings in English with her strong Italian accent. Scuccia told the judges, "Yes, I am truly, truly a sister. I came here because I have a gift and I want to share that gift. I am here to evangelize." Scuccia, who had her choice of team since all four judges spun around, chose J-Ax, an Italian rapper who she moved to tears.

Scuccia's singing is impressive, but her cheering section backstage is the most important reason to watch. Scuccia was joined by a group of older nuns who were very excited to see the judges approval.
