Here's What's In Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Whip

by Georgina Lawton

One thing that always softens the blow of summer ending is the introduction of that favorite fall drink: The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. And to celebrate its 13th birthday this year, we're being rewarded with a special addition in the form of Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream. (Exciting, I know!) So what's in Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream? Well, you'll be happy to know that it's been created to perfectly compliment the ingredient list that makes up the PSL. Taking heed of the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," Starbuck has created a creamy whip with real pumpkin and a similar blend of spices to the PSL. No doubt it will amp up the fall flavor in an already excellent beverage.

Long-time fans of the PSL itself can already attest to the fact that the celestial blend of sweet spices and coffee have graced their tastebuds since Sept. 6. And you'll no doubt be dying to get your hands on this birthday special combo, which is all the good stuff that makes up any Pumpkin Spice Starbucks beverage, plus the very welcome addition of some similarly-flavored whipped cream, boosting the Pumpkin Spiciness of the whole thing up to a whole new level.

Since the PSL became a teenager this year, it's an especially notable occasion. And what better way to celebrate than to offer PSL fans a freebie? You'll be ecstatic to know that from Oct. 6 until Oct. 9, customers in participating across the United States and Canada will be able to get Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream not just on their PSLs in any form (iced, hot, or Frappuccino), but on literally any Starbucks beverage on request at no additional cost. And as if this wasn't enough, customers who purchase a Pumpkin Spice Latte can pick up a free Happy Birthday PSL pin at participating stores while supplies last. Hurrah!

Here's a rundown of what you can expect to be in the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream:

Whipped Cream

Starbucks whipped cream has been a staple in Frapps and hot beverages for as long as I can remember. It's the key component in Pumpkin Spice Whip, of course — you can't very well have pumpkin spice-flavored whipped cream without the whipped cream.

Real Pumpkin Puree

From 2015, Starbucks pledged to use real pumpkin puree in its Pumpkin Spice drinks — and this dreamy fall whip is no exception.

Cinnamon

Perhaps my favorite fall spice, cinnamon features prominently in the whip, too.

Ginger

How could we have the true taste of fall without a little ginger added in?

Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a warming spice that, quite frankly, neither the PSL nor Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream cannot do without.

Clove

When added to the unique blend of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, clove helps give the Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream its stand-out flavor.

I for one, can't wait to try it. You've only got until Sunday, Oct. 9 to give it a shot — so hurry up and get moving!
