Kelly Clarkson Hated Both Of Her Pregnancies

Believe it or not, but some women hate being pregnant, and guess what? There's nothing wrong with that as proven by Kelly Clarkson, who hated both of her pregnancies, she revealed to Jenny McCarthy on Sirius XM Thursday. During her second pregnancy with her son, Remy, with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, Clarkson realized she would never have another child. "I was literally pregnant with Remy, and I was like, 'You are getting fixed. This will never happen to me again,'" she told McCarthy. The American Idol winner added after revealing she and Blackstock are both now "fixed," "If something happens, it’s a miracle of God. I literally told my OBGYN on the table while open, 'If I get pregnant again, I will find you!'"

She went onto explain that despite choosing to have a second child for her oldest daughter River's sake (she wanted her to have someone her age while they traveled and to have a friend and companion), 34-year-old Clarkson said it was not an experience she wants to remember. Not only was she hospitalized both times she was pregnant, but she said, "Remy's pregnancy was worse than River's." Regarding the entire pregnancy experience, she said, "It’s horrible. Nothing is beautiful, nothing is magical. Whatever, you’re that person that gets that pregnancy, good for you. But I will remind my children every day of their lives what I did."

Clarkson's candidness truly is refreshing and just goes to show that not all women have the same pregnancy experiences. It's OK that she didn't enjoy it. Her openness is inspiring and shows other women who may feel the same as she does that they may not feel that glow and happiness some do. Everyone is going to have a different pregnancy and they shouldn't feel pressure to love it.

In addition to Clarkson, Kim Kardashian was open about hating her pregnancies. "I'm gonna keep it real: For me, pregnancy is the worst experience of my life! LOL!" she wrote in an October 2015 post on her website. "I don't enjoy one moment of it and I don't understand people who enjoy it." That said, Kardashian is thankful for her daughter and son, as she also wrote, "Really, it is all SO worth it when you have your precious baby in the end! So for all my complaining, it's 100 percent worth it and more!!!"

I'm sure Clarkson feels the same way as Kardashian about it being worth it in the end. In a May 2015 Instagram, the singer shared, "Being a mother is the greatest thing I'll ever do. My career inspires me but my family gives me this constant state of euphoria that is all consuming and ever growing and sometimes hard but completely worth it." She truly loves her children, but the same can't be said about the actual part of being pregnant.

To be clear, I am not pregnant, have never been pregnant, and don't have any children of my own, but based on what I've heard, seen on TV and in movies, and read about, it almost seems like women are supposed to enjoy being pregnant. There appears to be a lot of pressure for women love it and not complain about it. However, that just isn't the case for every woman who has been or is pregnant.

Thanks to women like both Clarkson and Kardashian, they're showing others that pregnancy is different for every woman and that if they hate it, don't sweat it, because they aren't alone. Pregnancy is a huge deal and no woman should ever be pressured to feel about it a certain way.
