Reactions To Trump's Lewd Remarks To Billy Bush

by Morgan Brinlee

The Washington Post released a video of Donald Trump bragging about being freely groping women — with or without their consent — because he's "a star" Friday in a major blow to the Republican nominee's White House bid. The video, of which Bustle has a transcript, was reportedly captured in 2005 when Trump was doing a segment for Access Hollywood about his cameo on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.

In the footage, Trump can be seen on a bus embellished with the Access Hollywood logo boasting to Billy Bush, the show's host, that his celebrity status enables him to kiss and grab women by their genitals. "When you're a star they let you do it," a hot microphone reportedly caught Trump saying. "You can do anything. Grab them by the p---y. You can do anything."

Unfortunately for Trump, his vulgar claim that stardom puts him above consent is not the only lewd and sexist thing he's caught saying in the video. The Republican presidential nominee can also be heard bragging about his unsuccessful attempts to sleep with an unidentified woman (not his wife) and telling Bush he likes to go in for a kiss right away when face-to-face with a beautiful woman. "I've gotta use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her," Trump says. "You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful. I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait."

Reactions to Trump's skeevy convo with Bush ranged from angry to angrier with more than a few social media users hailing the video's release as the final nail in Trump's coffin.

Unsurprisingly, Trump doesn't think his comments are all that wrong. He described his comments as "locker-room banter" when asked about them by the Washington Post, justifying them as "a private conversation that took place many years ago." How Trump treats women has been a major focus of the 2016 election with the Republican nominee claiming that "nobody has more respect for women than me," all while his rival Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton paints him as a dangerous risk for young girls' self esteem.
