'Days Of Our Lives' Actress Responds To Trump Tape

A video of former Republican nominee Donald Trump preparing to film a segment about his cameo on Days of Our Lives for Access Hollywood has shaken up the 2016 presidential election, but it isn't Trump's acting chops that have everyone talking. The video, which was released by the Washington Post, revealed Trump bragging about how his star power enables him to "do anything" to women after making lewd comments about a woman on set to greet him for the segment. That woman, veteran Days of Our Lives actress Arianne Zucker has finally responded to the Trump tape.

"My name is Arianne Zucker and I am a strong, independent, hard working mother, business woman and partner to a great man," the Days of Our Lives actress wrote in a statement she published Sunday on Twitter. "I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect the value of my self worth or define the content of my character."

In the recently leaked tape, Trump and former Access Hollywood correspondent Billy Bush can be heard discussing Zucker's physical appearance, specifically praising her legs. At one point Trump even says he might "start kissing her."

Bush: Sheesh, your girl’s hot as shit. In the purple.

Trump: Whoa! Whoa!

Bush: Yes! The Donald has scored. Whoa, my man!

Trump: I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.

Bush: Whatever you want.

Trump: Grab 'em by the p---y. You can do anything.

Bush: Uh, yeah, those legs, all I can see is the legs.

Trump: Oh, it looks good.

While Zucker never mentions Trump by name in her statement, she clearly has a few words of advice for the Republican nominee. "How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect," her statement reads. "Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it."

Initially, Zucker had declined to talk about the tape, telling CBS's Tom Wait "it's not about me" Friday. But it seems she may have done a bit of reflecting on the situation over the weekend. "In understanding the magnitude of this situation, I choose to stand tall with self respect and use my voice to enrich, inspire and elevate the best of who we are as people," Zucker said in her statement.
