Kim's Friends & Family Are Taking Over Her App

by Nicole Pomarico

Not long after her robbery in France, reports started coming out that claimed Kim Kardashian had decided to pull back from social media for awhile, and it looks like those reports were right. So far, it's been more than two weeks since the reality star has shared anything on social media, something that's totally uncharacteristic of who she's been since the advent of Twitter and Instagram. And now, it sounds like the wait will be even longer for her to make her return in 140 characters or less. On Monday night, Kardashian's assistant updated fans on her condition, and it definitely sounds like it'll be awhile before she gets back to work and rejoins the public.

In the update, which took the form of a handwritten note on Kardashian's website, Stephanie Sheppard announced that for the time being, Kardashian's friends and family will be taking over the task of creating new exclusive content for her site and app. She promised "new posts and app takeovers" in the near future now that "Keeks is taking some much needed time off." Sheppard didn't specify exactly who we can expect to hear from, but my guess is that her sisters will play a big part.

Shep is right that Kardashian needs this time off. Even without the traumatic experience of being attacked and robbed, it's safe to say that she's an incredibly hard worker, especially since the fact that she's a workaholic is often a plot point on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I might be disappointed to hear that Kardashian may not be resurfacing online anytime soon, but it's good to hear that she's doing what she needs to in order to take care of herself right now, which is obviously the most important thing.

Earlier this week, Kardashian's Paris lawyer, Jean Veil, released a statement that said she's staying "very calm and very determined over a matter that was particularly violent" as the investigation into the crime continues. It can't be easy trying to find peace over something that's still so open ended, so it's not too surprising that she's still not ready to get back to work.

It's awesome that Kardashian has such a great support system surrounding her at such a difficult time, and I'm looking forward to their updates — even if they aren't coming from the queen of Instagram herself. She'll be back eventually, but for now, this is a good compromise. Here's hoping she feels like her old self soon!
