Kim K Robbery Footage Confirms At Least One Thing

by Michelle McGahan

The video may be grainy (and perhaps too grainy to make out any clear shots of the suspects), but if the new Kim Kardashian robbery footage does show her robbers, it confirms at least one thing: just how long the burglars were inside her apartment when they stole more than $10 million worth of jewelry from the reality star and held her at gunpoint on Oct. 3. According to the video obtained by TMZ, the first three alleged robbers arrived on bicycle at Kardashian's apartment complex at approximately 2:19 a.m., later joined by two others on foot at around 2:33 a.m. The security footage then cuts to the suspects leaving the building at 3:07 a.m., meaning that if these are the culprits, the entire burglary happened in 49 minutes.

Though there have been conflicting reports of how long the intruders spent inside Kardashian's residence — TMZ initially reported that the "entire incident took around 6 minutes" — a Paris police source recently told Us Weekly exactly what the video has now proved: That they were in Kardashian's apartment for 49 minutes. This video footage, of course, now appears to confirm that insider's knowledge. However, since the footage is blurry, it is tough to say as to whether or not the tape will reveal the identities of the suspects in the video. According to TMZ, "police have not said if they have any leads on the perpetrators."

The Us Weekly police source believes that the robbers "clearly knew the security code of the main doors, and let themselves in without any problem at all," the insider told the magazine.

Earlier this week, Kardashian's Paris lawyer, Jean Veil, spoke with the media about the incident. (Kardashian herself has not made any statement on the matter and has not posted anything on any of her social accounts since the incident occurred.)

"She is very calm and very determined over a matter that was particularly violent," Kardashian's lawyer said. "If she is summoned to France, she will come to France, but judges also have the possibility of moving [to the United States]."

The men are facing charges of "armed robbery by an organized gang, criminal conspiracy and kidnapping," he added.

During the robbery, Kardashian was held at gunpoint and was reportedly bound at the hands and feet and placed in her bathtub by the intruders. According to TMZ, the reality star feared for her life and thought she would be raped. Kardashian's rep had no comment for Bustle about these reports.

The Paris Police Prefecture previously told Bustle about the investigation: "We are not able to respond to your request because a judicial inquiry is opened only the Paris Prosecutor's office which can communicate to the press and the public and to not interfere with ongoing investigations."
