Suggestions For Benedict & Sophie's Baby Name

The most British-named man in the world is growing his own little royal family. On Friday, it was reported that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their second child, after some speculation at the Doctor Strange premiere that Hunter was baby bumping it. Cumberbatch's rep confirmed the good news to Bustle, saying that "Everyone is absolutely thrilled." And probably not excited just to add another cumber to the batch (har har), but surely to get their name alliteration on again: Their first son's name is "Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch," so it's anyone's guess how they're going to top that.

British names: Let's admit it, they're goofy. There's the theory that everything sounds smarter and more authoritative in an English accent, but let's not forget that Doctor Strange's name is literally Benedict Cumberbatch. You can't make this stuff up, people! So, to follow in the footsteps of their first child, I've personally come up with some alliterative suggestions Cumberbatch and Hunter can use free of charge:

Cedric Canterbury Cumberbatch: to pay homage to Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and Chaucer's Canturbury Tales. Or, Tim Canterbury from the U.K. Office. This is like, three levels of British.

Cordelia Clive Cumberbatch: Cordelia is the favored daughter of King Lear from Shakespeare's tragedy, and Clive Owen is a very talented British actor.

Charles "Charlie" Charles Cumberbatch: There are so many Charleses in British history, why not just Charles it up?

Charlotte "Charlie" Charles Cumberbatch: A variation on a theme.

Camilla Catherine Cumberbatch: This one isn't even ridiculous; this is a real suggestion.

Calvin Cadbury Cumberbatch: I love candy.

Again, I don't need any credit for any of these names should Hunter and Cumberbatch choose to use them, but I would very much like a screener of the the next season of Sherlock before everyone else gets their hands on it.

Whatever the couple decides to name their second child, they're super excited. As excited as those reserved Brits can get, anyway: When they had Christopher Carlton in June 2015, their rep said they were "delighted." Cheers.
