This Is How Long You Should Be Brushing Your Teeth

Let's face it, brushing your teeth is an everyday necessity to your personal and dental hygiene, no matter how much you might despise having to do it. But maybe you're like me, and you're not entirely sure exactly how long you're supposed to be brushing your teeth for. In elementary school, I was told two full minutes. But how am I supposed to keep track of that? I surely do not have a timer sitting at my sink for the daily task.

Let me introduce you to Goby, a rechargeable toothbrush that operates on the aforementioned two-minute recommendation using a 30-second timer, which allows you to brush each quadrant of your teeth thoroughly for the right amount of time. Sounds like a lazy girl's dream toothbrush, right?

Ben Goldberg, co-founder of Goby, gave Bustle a little more insight on the features of the company's innovative toothbrush and why it helps brushers of all types. The toothbrush has two modes — sensitive and regular. If you've never used an electronic toothbrush before, Goldberg recommends starting with the sensitive mode and then move your way to regular.

Not only does Goby do the thinking for you (it shuts off after two minutes so you know you're done!), it also stays charged for up to two weeks! The charger connects to the sleek stand and will light up to tell you that it's fully charged. It will also tell you when it's time to switch your toothbrush head — seriously!

What makes this all the more user-friendly is that Goby has a subscription service that sends replacement heads for their toothbrushes when time is up. "We offer a subscription so you don't have to worry about changing your worn out bristles; one less chore for you to worry about," Goldberg tells Bustle over email.

If you're wondering why you should use an electric toothbrush over a regular one, Goldberg tells us that they can be more effective. "You can do a good job with a manual toothbrush, but most don't due to human error. Goby removes as much human error as possible, making everyone an expert brusher."

A sleek, innovative toothbrush that does the thinking for you.
