Emma Watson Is A Book Fairy, Just As We Suspected

New evidence posted to the actress-turned-activist's Instagram account proves, once and for all, that Emma Watson is a book fairy. The 26-year-old Brown University grad shared photos and video of herself hiding copies of Mom & Me & Mom throughout the London subway. Maya Angelou's 2013 memoir is the latest pick for Emma Watson's book club, Our Shared Shelf.

Watson's book-fairy project is a collaboration between Our Shared Shelf and Books on the Underground: a social movement that encourages readers to leave their favorite books on the train for others to find. Participants can tweet books they leave or find to @Booksundergrnd.

Our Shared Shelf will read Mom & Me & Mom in November and December. Angelou's memoir explores her complicated relationship with her often-absent mother, Vivian Baxter, who Watson says "cuts a fiercely unapologetic figure, imperfect but admirable," and who "had a hand [not only] in Angelou’s evolution as a black woman but also in her feminist perspective, her independence and self-awareness."

It's fun to watch Watson sneak around, indirectly delivering books to unsuspecting London Underground passengers, but it's even more delightful to witness people's reactions to her bookish surprises. Check out the Instagram posts below to see what I mean.

Emma Watson is a true book fairy. The only thing she's missing is a pair of paper wings.
