I usually wouldn’t go out on a limb to comment on anyone’s romantic life, but if you’re a cast member on a reality show, I tend to make an exception. And in the case of Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute, I haven't always agreed with her personal decisions. She dated Tom Sandoval, a man who shaves his forehead and is in a band called Charles McMansion, for years and didn't take the breakup well (we’ve all been there). Then, Kristen dated James Kennedy, a British “DJ” who likes to drink a lot and calls himself the “white Kanye.” Luckily, at the end of the last season of Vanderpump Rules , Kristen started dating Brian Carter, and this one finally seems like a catch.
I’m of the mindset that you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince, and it’s hard to kiss all those frogs when you’re in front of a camera. According to Kristen, Carter was the first guy she “swiped right” on Bumble, and their courtship came fast and furious. Kristen’s done a lot of growing up over the past few seasons of Vanderpump Rules, and it was nice to see her as not only the sane one on the show, but also as the happy, in-love, and well-adjusted adult. From the looks of it, Carter and Kristen are indeed still together — earlier in 2016, Kristen told E! News that she thought Carter was “the one.” "It's hard to explain,” she said. “I was talking to my friend Jade [Roper, from Bachelor in Paradise] who just got married [to Tanner Tolbert], and she told me, 'To each their own. When you know, you know.'" I would agree with that sentiment.
Kristen and Carter also made some other big leaps in 2016. They not only moved in together, but they now have a little addition of their own — a puppy, called Gibson Nicks. I mean, just look at this dog. Is it possible for something to be so cute?
Contrary to popular belief, Kristen and Carter are not yet engaged — Kristen told E! News that she wears a fake engagement ring. "It looks good," she said. "I just wanted to see — what if I don't like this cut?" Hey, I would want to know what ring I wanted, too. You’ll hopefully be wearing that ring for the rest of your life, right?
A look through Kristen’s recent photos with Carter show a couple that looks happy and stable together, and I’m excited for her. She always got the you-know-what end of the stick when it came to all of the drama with her and Jax — why did Kristen get rejected from the group for sleeping with Jax while he got to remain friends with everyone? All of that so wasn’t fair and she's really been through a lot. I’m happy that Kristen has moved on with her life, and that she has found love in a hopeless place (aka reality TV).
