How To Cast Harry Potter Spells On Amazon.com

What a time to be alive for the Muggles and no-Majes of the world: the non-magical among us can now cast Harry Potter spells on Amazon by typing the name of the spells into the search bar of the e-commerce site. (h/t cattlebird on Reddit) Perhaps you never received your Hogwarts acceptance letter, but for one blissful moment, you can channel the powers of the Potterverse through your keyboard. This revelation follows a month of amazing news in the world of Harry Potter. Just last week, Google announced that Android users can cast spells with their phones using voice control.

So, just how does this work? First, go to Amazon. When you get to the home screen, direct yourself to the "search" bar at the very top. Type a spell — say, "lumos" — and watch as the screen fills up with light. As the spell fades, your screen will redirect you to a landing page for Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them, which hits theaters later this month.

Fortunately, none of the Unforgivable Curses seem to elicit a response from Amazon, but these five spells do work. Try them out, and tell us if you discover any others!

Aguamenti

Typing "aguamenti" causes your computer screen to fill with water.

Lumos

"Lumos" covers your screen in blinding white light.

Incendio

...and Incendio sets your screen on fire (figuratively.)

Orchideous

Orchideous fills your screen with spring blossoms!

Reducto

Reducto blasts your screen to pieces.

All five spells (there could be more!) end up on the same landing page: a trailer for Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them , which hits theaters on Nov. 18. You can watch the trailer, purchase tickets, and add some other Harry Potter swag to your bag.

Have fun, young wizards!
