Your Fave Authors Are Getting Out The Vote

by Caitlin White

If there's one thing we can agree with Donald Trump on, it's that Election Day 2016 is going to be huge. This is one for the history books, and your favorite authors across the country know it. Huge celebs are showing up to say #ImWithHer, like Jay Z, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus, and way (way, way) more, but young adult and adult fiction authors are doing their part to get out the vote by sharing their election love (and total frustration) on social media, among other things.

The incredible #YAforHillary campaign seems to have worked, as young adult authors are proudly showing their "I Voted!" stickers from their local polling stations across Twitter. Every author — whether they write kids books, fantasy, horror, memoir, romance, literary fiction, nonfiction, or anything — has their own reasons for voting and their own fears, hopes, and anxieties about the 2016 election outcome. But all of them know the power of casting their vote.

So whether they're rocking the pantsuit to vote for Hillary, taking their whole family to the polling place, or looking out for citizens who face intimidation at the polls, these authors are chatting everything about voting today on November 8.
