How To Watch Stephen Colbert's Showtime Special

by Kadeen Griffiths

Listen, every other Election Night coverage special, I'mma let you finish, but Stephen Colbert is... well, you get it. I, for one, will absolutely be watching Colbert's Live Election Special on Showtime, because, thanks to Verizon Fios, I have Showtime. But what about those of you who don't have cable or maybe don't even have a TV? What's a person without Showtime to do, besides look up my address, travel to my home, peek in through the window, and get dragged away by the cops? Like, do you even need Showtime to watch Stephen Colbert's Election Special? I know you'd love for me to tell you that you don't, but, uh, guys, you kind of do.

Well, you don't need Showtime to watch the entire special. The "uncensored" opening monologue will be available on Facebook Live, so you can whet your appetite for the whole thing. But to watch the whole thing, you're going to need Showtime. OK, to watch the whole thing live you're going to need Showtime. Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going to Clean Up This Sh*t? will air again, on CBS, but that will happen on Friday, Nov. 11 — aka way too late to make a difference or calm your frantic nerves as you wait for the results to roll in.

And, let's be real, nothing calms the nerves better than Colbert's hot takes on the elections, the candidates, and life in general. I know I'm only getting through this night thanks to the knowledge that there's an election special from Colbert waiting for me at 11 p.m. So, remember to find a way to get Showtime before 11 p.m. Eastern / 10 p.m. Central, or head to your neighbor's house and start peering through their windows and hoping they watch. (Disclaimer: Don't actually do this. It's creepy. Just wait until Friday, Nov. 11 on CBS, and watch the opening monologue on Facebook Live, like a normal person.)
