The Election Ended Without A Word From Weiner

With the news of Donald Trump's election as the 45th president of the United States, there are many questions swirling through everyone's minds right now. What does this mean for America? What does this mean for the world? What does this mean for my family and friends? What does this mean for me? For a much smaller fraction of those reacting to last night's election, one question on their minds is: Where is Anthony Weiner?

The former New York Congressman somehow managed to find his way into the pre-election news cycle when the FBI announced it had found new emails related to Hillary Clinton while investigating Weiner for allegedly sending illicit text messages to a minor. The emails found belonged to Weiner's estranged wife Huma Abedin, who is one of Clinton's top aides. On Nov. 7, FBI director James Comey followed up with an announcement that the FBI had found no more evidence of criminal activity in the new batch of emails.

Today, many Twitter users are blaming Comey and his empty announcement for throwing the election for Clinton. But what about Weiner, without whose penchant for controversy and sexting all the last-minute attention on emails may never have happened?

Well, for anyone wondering about Weiner's whereabouts or waiting for him to make a statement on the election, however big or small, you may be waiting for a while. On Nov 2. DailyMail.com reported that he had checked into a rehabilitation program for sex addiction treatment. There have been no developments in the story since then. No telling when Weiner will once again emerge into the public eye, but whenever it happens we'll all still probably be reeling from this election.
