There Is A 'Wizard Of Oz' Palette In The Works

We knew we loved Storybook Cosmetics when they announced their Harry Potter-inspired makeup brushes, and since then they have exceeded our expectations with their HP palette and their Mean Girls palette complete with shades like "On Wednesdays We Wear Pink" and "I'm A Mouse, Duh." On Thursday, they did it again with their latest announcement: A Wizard Of Oz eyeshadow palette.

Toto, we are not in the realm of boring beauty anymore.

The company Instagrammed a photo of the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz" palette, which as of now is only in pre-production. It contains eight shades of eyeshadow, all with perfectly Oz-related names: Poppy, Wicked, Good Witch, Emerald City, Oz, Cyclone, Yellow Brick Road and Toto. While we don't know just yet what colors these cute names are describing, I imagine that it will include a lot of bright jewel tones. For example, I picture "Poppy" as a bold red, "Emerald City" as a deep green and, obviously, "Yellow Brick Road" as a bright golden yellow. This is all speculation, of course, but if we learned anything from Wizard Of Oz it's that a girl can dream, can't she?! No word on when the palette will launch so we'll all be patiently awaiting the next Instagram post with more information. Sigh.

As if the color names weren't enough to send you into full Oz-nostalgia mode, the palette is set on a yellow-brick backdrop and inscribed with the quote, "You have plenty of courage, I am sure, All you need is confidence in yourself," which Frank L. Baum wrote in the original version of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

I, for one, am hoping this palette gives me the confidence to wear jewel tone eyeshadow for the first time in my life. I can't wait to try it out!
