A Weekend Wedding for This Pair

by Aly Semigran

After nearly three years of dating, The Talk co-host Sara Gilbert married singer-songwriter Linda Perry. Gilbert's rep confirmed to US Weekly that the couple (who became engaged last April) wed on Sunday, March 30, 2014 with a guest list that included the likes of Juliette Lewis. (The actress tweeted, "Holiday by Madonna playin, sun is beaming, gettin ready 4 the wedding of 1of my fave couples in the universe @RealLindaPerry @THEsaragilbert.") The newlyweds are reportedly now on their honeymoon.

This marks the first marriage for both Perry, 48, and Gilbert, 39. Gilbert, who came out in 2010, was in a longterm relationship with TV producer Alison Adler, with whom she has two children with, a son Levi, 9, and a daughter Sawyer, 6. (Before she publicly came out as a lesbian, Gilbert had dated her former Roseanne co-star Johnny Galecki.)

While Gilbert might be the more recognizable one in the couple (she played the wise-cracking tomboy Darlene for nine seasons on Roseanne , one of the most popular sitcoms of all time), Perry has arguably had an even bigger cultural impact. In addition to fronting the '90s rock band 4 Non Blonds (who gave us the hit "What's Up?" in 1993), Perry has penned chart-topping pop hits that include Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful," Pink's "Get the Party Started," and Gwen Stefani's "What Are You Waiting For?", among others.

In short, this is one kick-ass couple who the '80s, '90s, and 2000s would have been very different without.

Congrats to the happy couple!
