Yes, You Can See 'Hamilton' For Free & Here's How

Tickets for Hamilton aren't easy to get and certainly aren't cheap, which is why this latest news about the Broadway hit should make many people (and their wallets) very happy. Fans will be able to see Hamilton for free as part of the Broadway @ W Times Square, a series that brings the Great White Way to the masses. On Sunday, Dec. 4, the cast of the hit musical will perform in The Living Room at the W hotel in Times Square, which again, is free.

According to a press release, the Hamilton performance will not be the entire show, but will instead feature a mix of songs from the musical, and other songs of the cast's choice. This is all free, a fact that really just can't be stressed enough. There were a a limited number of seats being sold for $20, but those have already sold out, because of course they have. There's nothing wrong with standing, though, especially when you get to see "a raw, acoustic, up close and personal evening with Broadway's brightest talents," while drinking Broadway-themed cocktails from The Living Room bar.

As of now, there's been no announcement of which members of the cast will be there, or whether this just includes the current cast or the original cast, too. You know, the one that featured creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom, Jr., Renée Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs, and Phillipa Soo. Either way, the fact that the listing for the show includes the words "special guests" — in all-caps, no less — should get you even more excited for this performance.

There likely will be some mention of their recent headline-grabbing performance for vice president-elect Mike Pence. The one where Brandon Victor Dixon (who plays Aaron Burr) delivered a powerful statement that asked the new Republican administration to work "on behalf of all Americans" — a message that resulted in president-elect Donald Trump tweeting that the "highly overrated" show needed to apologize.

If you don't exactly agree with Trump about his assessment of the show (which he's never actually seen), then make sure you don't miss your shot to see Hamilton for free next month. Who knows, the politically-charged show may not just be an entertaining experience, but an enlightening one too.
