Here's How Hillary Clinton Is Living It Up Now

by Alex Gladu

It has been two weeks since Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election to Donald Trump, and she seems to be adapting to post-election life well. Although she's not preparing for a transition into the White House, Clinton is continuing her important work as a public figure and she's finding some time for herself. Most recently, Clinton was spotted at a bookstore in Rhode Island, reportedly shopping with her family.

According to The Huffington Post, Clinton was seen over the weekend at the Savoy Bookshop, an independent bookstore in Westerly, near the Rhode Island coast. An employee of the store, Jessica Wick, shared a photo of the encounter on social media, saying, "She was gracious and she was warm and she said the bookstore was beautiful."

Clinton has remained mostly out of the spotlight since she conceded the presidential election to Trump. However, that hasn't stopped what appearances she has made from drawing unnecessary criticism. For instance, Clinton spoke last week at the Children's Defense Fund, where she previously worked early in her career. Her speech drew reactions not for its content, but rather, for her bare face, as she appeared to have little to no makeup on. She appeared similarly fresh-faced in the photo captured from her trip to the bookstore.

Just a day after the election, Clinton was spotted as she walked with her husband through the woods near their home in Chappaqua, New York. The woman who ran into the Clintons reportedly found the encounter uplifting, but later received death threats after her photo with the former first lady went viral.

In the wake of all the negativity surrounding Clinton's public post-election outings, let's remember an important detail: Clinton announced her candidacy for president in April 2015, more than a year and a half before Election Day. She spent nearly 19 months campaigning full-time — and that's not to mention her many years of public service before running for president.

Regardless of your political beliefs, it's plain to see that Clinton has earned some time off to do as she pleases. If she wants to go to a bookstore, great! If she wants to pose for a photo with an excited supporter, awesome! In both instances, she reportedly left positive impressions with the women she met, making them feel better in their time of disappointment after the election.

She might not have won over the Electoral College, but post-election life looks so good on Clinton that she has made her supporters smile in every situation.
