Chris Brown Delivers a Message From Jail

by Kenya Foy

Chris Brown hasn't said much about his latest arrest that landed him in jail through April 17, until Monday. Proving that not even a jail stint could come between him, the spotlight, and his beloved Team Breezy, Brown delivered a short message of appreciation to his fans via a recorded phone call posted on ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran's Instagram page. The gesture seems relatively harmless, if it weren't coming from Brown. Seeing as how his recent troubles include an exhausting list of probation violations, nasty Twitter feuds, public outbursts, rehab sentences and arrests, wouldn't it be nice if he took the humble, self-reflective route and served out his sentence in silence?

Sure it's kind to assure the fans that their support hasn't gone unnoticed, but one would think that assurance would also come in the form of avoiding trouble and staying out of jail in the first place, which prevents him from doing the very thing that makes his die-hard fans faithfully back him, such as the release of Brown's duet with Ariana Grande, "Don't Be Gone Too Long," prompting Grande herself to express disappointment on Twitter.

As for the message, Team Breezy obviously ate it up, as they do most of whatever Brown offers them, musical or otherwise:

Even though his fans really appreciated the message, it would probably serve him and his devoted followers better if his priorities were on resolving his personal issues. Getting his crap together, and staying out of jail would allow him to deliver these messages to Team Breezy by way of good music and performances instead of via a cryptic Instagram message from behind bars.
