Beyoncé Is No Stranger To Grammy Noms

by Caitlyn Callegari

I know that fans somewhat joke about how Beyoncé has taken over not just the music industry, but the world. The thing is, though, it's actually kind of true. While Queen Bey may not have a seat in congress or a direct route to the White House quite yet, she has become a vocal social activist. And, let's be real here, she's unofficial musical royalty. Which brings me to one very important question now that the Grammy nominations are upon us: How many Grammy nominations does Beyoncé have? Because it'd be criminal to not be up on her award statistics at this point in time.

I know you're sitting there, trying to use math and logic at the same time. Because Bey is so great, it has to be a wild number, even if you can't exactly keep score off of the top of your head, right? Right. You aren't far off at all. In fact, the Grammy Awards' powers that be highlighted just how magnificent and winning Bey has been. According to their site's description of Beyoncé, "The 20-time GRAMMY winner holds the second most wins by a female artist and is tied with Adele at six for most GRAMMY wins in one night by a female." So, you know, no big deal.

But, while she has 20 Grammys and that in and of itself is amazing, per IMDb, Beyoncé was actually nominated for 35 awards altogether. I know, I'll give you a second to pick your jaw up off of the floor. I bet even Bey's biggest fan didn't anticipate that high of a number. And, that's not even including this year's Grammys, which, as Forbes predicts, could include a nomination for Album of the Year for Lemonade. Meanwhile, Bustle's own Grammy predictions foresee Queen Bey in the Song of the Year and Record of the Year categories, too.

All in all, one thing is clear. Whether it's this year or next, Bey's number of nominations and wins will steadily rise — and keep rising.
