Amy Schumer Just Proved She Is The Perfect Barbie

It's no secret that live-action movies are becoming quite the thing these days. From Beauty and the Beast to The Jungle Book to Pokémon to The Lion King, live-action films aren't going away. You might as well as just accept that fact right now, including the most recent announcement of a possible live-action Barbie starring Amy Schumer as the titular character. Unfortunately, this particular project hasn't received quite as much love as some of the other live-action film announcements did and mainly due to the fact that some people think the comedian doesn't embody who Barbie is. Basically, the actor is being insulted because many refuse to see that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Well, Amy Schumer just proved she makes the perfect Barbie in an Instagram she shared Tuesday in reaction to the backlash.

Alongside a photo of the Trainwreck star in a swimsuit, she wrote a lengthy post defending herself against the haters and showing why no matter what anyone says, she will always rise above the negativity. "Very very honored to be nominated for 2 Grammys and to be considered to play an important and evolving icon," she wrote. "Is it fat shaming if you know you're not fat and have zero shame in your game? I don't think so." Say what you want about her, but Schumer loves herself inside and out. No one will ever change that, which is further proof of why she is the right choice as Barbie.

As Variety reported about the movie, "In it, the main character gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough and lands in a real-world adventure." It certainly sounds like that mirrors what's happening now with Schumer potentially taking on the role.

With that, allow me to break down the rest of her powerful Instagram and show you why not only this film is needed now more than ever, but why Schumer should absolutely play Barbie.

"I am strong and proud of how I live my life and say what I mean and fight for what I believe in and I have a blast doing it with the people I love. Where's the shame? It's not there. It's an illusion."

Why wouldn't you want someone who believes in herself and sees herself as beautiful to play Barbie, a role model for so many young girls?

"When I look in the mirror I know who I am. I'm a great friend, sister, daughter, and girlfriend. I'm a badass comic headlining arenas all over the world and making TV and movies and writing books where I lay it all out there and I'm fearless like you can be."

Whoever takes on Barbie should 100 percent be "fearless" and have no shame in tooting their own horn. So many young women need to know it's OK to have confidence.

"Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support and again my deepest sympathy goes out to the trolls who are in more pain than we will ever understand. I want to thank them for making it so evident that I am a great choice."

The fact that she can turn a negative situation into something positive further proves why deserves to play such an icon.

"It's that kind of response that let's you know something's wrong with our culture and we all need to work together to change it. Anyone who has ever been bullied or felt bad about yourself I am out there fighting for you, for us. And I want you to fight for yourself too!"

Oh yeah, Schumer also inspires with encouraging words in hopes of helping others realize they should always stand up for themselves and never let anyone make them feel bad for who they are or how they look. Plus, the fact that she wants people to work together shows young women that they need to uplift each other, not the opposite. Isn't that the Barbie you want?

"We need to laugh at the haters and sympathize with them. They can scream as loud as they want. We can't hear them because we are getting sh*t done. I am proud to lead by example."

She certainly leads by example.

"I say if I'm beautiful, I say if I'm strong. You will not determine my story. I will."

*drops mic*

I'm pretty sure Barbie should just let Schumer write all of Barbie's lines. If not, the film should at least use some of the above quotes, because this is what a leading woman looks like.
