Neville Longbottom Is Getting Married

It seems like just yesterday that little Neville Longbottom was winning the House Cup for Gryffindor with his daring display of bravery, and now he is all grown up and ready to tie the knot. On Saturday, the Daily Mail confirmed that Neville actor Matthew Lewis is engaged to Angela Jones, an event planner at Universal Studios. The happy couple have been together since July, and according to TMZ, Lewis went for ultimate romance with his proposal when he got down on one knee in Paris to pop the question. Smooth, Lewis, smooth.

The cutest part of all is that Harry Potter is what brought the couple together. Lewis met Jones at a Wizarding World event in Orlando, Florida. The pair reportedly met while Jones was working, and Jones instantly won the heart of the man who was once known as Neville Longbottom to a legion of fans. Basically, if Lewis had never played the adorkable character, he never would have met the love of his life. Never doubt the magic of Harry Potter, because it knows no bounds.

"They're both over the moon," a spokesman for the couple revealed to Daily Mail. "They got together in July and hit it off straight away."

Lewis has always kept his personal life quiet, preferring to reserve his Twitter account for his charity work and promoting his latest projects. His private courtship and sweet proposal to Jones is so Lewis and Neville. Fans were blown away when Lewis grew out of his awkward phase to become a certified heartthrob, but he still has Neville's sense of romance (remember how hard Neville worked to prepare for the Yule Ball?).

Harry Potter has brought so much joy into the lives of fans. It has lifted them up in dark times and helped them forge connections they never would have made without the boy who lived. Knowing that Potter has had a similar effect on the lives of the actors who brought the series to life on the big screen is beautiful. Lewis likely thought he was in for a routine convention when he showed up at the Wizarding World event, but instead he met an amazing woman who he fell in love with — my heart is seriously warmed right now.

Lewis and Jones deserve nothing but happiness in their future. Here is hoping they have a relationship full of love, laughter, and Harry Potter references. I think somewhere back at Hogwarts, Neville Longbottom is extra proud of Lewis right now.
