Urban Decay's Makeup Setting Sprays Are Changing

There is an easy way to put a finishing touch on your makeup, which you likely put a lot of care, effort, and thought into. You can do so by spritizing one of Urban Decay's makeup setting sprays on your face. A spritz or two will help the product set. You can also spray your face again later in the day to refresh your face. Know what else is getting refreshed? Oh, just the product itself! Urban Decay is making an upgrade to its makeup setting sprays, which will make the brand's Beauty Junkies happy. The makeup sprays address a variety of issues — there's the All Nighter, which is long-lasting, and there's De-Slick, which controls oil, and Chill, which cools and hydrates skin. So what's new and different about the Urban Decay makeup setting sprays?

Well, according to Women's Wear Daily, brand founder Wende Zomnir wanted to revamp the packaging, because the matte white bottles got dirty... quick. She told WWD, "The bottle picked up makeup grime, and my fresh pretty white bottle always looked grungy and gross."

Now, the bottles will be black with a light mist sprayer.

Sounds like an awesome upgrade indeed.

New and improved packaging, containing the same beloved formula!

The brand posted the upcoming slate of Spring 2017 products. Bustle also reached out to Urban Decay reps to inquire about when the new UD Makeup Setting Sprays.

UPDATE: UD reps responded to our email. According to the press materials, each Setting Spray comes in a black soft-touch bottle with a purple sprayer and a frosted white cap. The sprayer delivers a microfine mist. The formula is not changing, only the packaging. They are available at Sephora, Ulta Beauty and select Macy's stores and online at sephora.com, ulta.com, macys.com, and urbandecay.com.

Here is the former packaging. The new bottles will keep the product looking grime-free and will make the amazing W. Zomnir happy. It's typical of Urban Decay to re-do products, even ones that are performing well. Case in point: The reboot of the brand's lipstick range earlier this year with the Vice lipsticks.

Did you know that Zomnir used to spray her makeup with hairspray to set it back in college? She obviously doesn't need to do that any longer, due to the fact that she created the Setting Sprays, which are formulated with Temperature Control Technology. What's that? Well, it lowers the temperature of your makeup so it stays put.

You can also wet your makeup brushes with the sprays before application to help them last longer, to avoid shadow fallout on cheeks, and to get more intense color. That's a legit tip from UD.
