This Is The Most Overlooked Step In Skincare

It seems like everything in the beauty world comes right back to skincare. After all, without a good foundation, a flawless, glam face is harder to achieve. So what are you missing when it comes to skincare? Lina Hanson, owner and creator of Lina Hanson Beauty, is here to give us the low down on what really matters when it comes to skincare. She's also divulging what the most overlooked part of most routines are and how you can fix it.

Hanson started her career as a makeup artist. It's her history working on diverse skin tones and textures that has had a large impact on how she formulates her own products and the core tenets of her brand. According to Hanson's website, her eponymous line is all about "easy to use, high quality skincare" and focuses on pure, ethically-sourced ingredients for every woman.

Now, Hanson is sharing her expertise with me, and she's letting people know the one thing that they overlook the most when it comes to skincare. Sure, we all know that moisturizing and cleansing the skin is important. In fact, Hanson agrees. "The most important aspect of skincare is cleansing the skin. Cleansing the skin will help draw out all the impurities, tighten pores, remove dead skin cells, and clear acne or bacteria." However, that's not where it ends. "Moisturizing is equally as important. Hydrating your skin using a high quality oil or serum will help feed your skin with antioxidants and minerals that will keep it smooth, balanced, and healthy." Sounds good to me! But is there something we're leaving out?

According to Hanson, the most commonly overlooked product in many skincare routines is an exfoliator. It's definitely an excellent point and reminder during the cold, winter season when people are trying to figure out how to slough off dry, dead skin cells.

Hanson explains, "One of the most overlooked skincare products in my opinion is an exfoliator. Exfoliating is one of the most important parts of the beauty regimen. I recommend exfoliating one to two times a week depending on your skin."

Hanson understands that all skin is different and tailors her recommendations to your sensitivities. She tells me, "If you have oily or combination skin, twice a week works great. If you have dry skin, once a week is enough. Exfoliating will not only improve blood circulation and detox the skin, but also improve your skin's texture overtime."

If you've been wondering why you haven't achieved that enviable glowy complexion yet, exfoliation might be the key to solving your skin problems. Want to add an exfoliant to your routine? Head to Lina Hanson Beauty to shop her incredible skincare products — get ready for stunning skin.
