Whatever You Do, Don't Call Her ScarJo

by Aly Semigran

This Captain America 2 star is not pleased. The current Glamour cover girl let it be known, once again, that Scarlett Johansson does not like the nickname ScarJo. "I associate that name with, like, pop stars," the actress told the magazine. "It sounds tacky. It's lazy and flippant ... There's something insulting about it." You can say a lot about ScarJ-- er, Scarlett, but you can't say she's not candid in interviews.

But, hang on there a second, Scarlett. While a few pop stars may have shortened monikers like you (Selena Gomez's SelGo is an especially egregious one, but Jennifer Lopez's J. Lo is here to stay) you do share the company of your fellow movie stars like Jennifer Lawrence (J. Law) and Robert Pattinson (RPattz). Plus, at least you were never a combined couple name like Brangelina or TomKat or Bennifer.

Still, even that hasn't seemed to appease ScarJo (sorry!), as she previously told USA Today in 2011, "People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre ... so Cate Blanchett is not, like, 'CaBla'?" Fair enough. But, here's a undeniably lazy defense of the nickname ScarJo (aside from the fact that it's pretty harmless and it rolls off the tongue rather effortlessly): her last name is nearly impossible to remember how to spell. Is it two "n's"? One "s"?

So to even the playing field for Scarlett, we came up with 10 other monikers for stars with difficult last names. And, no, Cate Blanchett's CaBla didn't make the cut.

Zach Galifianakis = ZacGal

Matthew McConaughey = Heyyyyyy

Joe Manganiello = Joe Man

Alexander Skarsgard = A-Skar

Jake Gyllenhaal = J. Gyll

Mia Wasikowska = M. Was

Hayden Panettiere = HayPan

Jason Sudeikis = J.Suds

Will Ferrell = Pharrell

Shia LaBeouf = Not Famous Anymore

Not sure what Scarlett's deal is, but after looking at these suggestions, "ScarJo" isn't so bad, now is it?
