10 'Full House' Givens That Made Absolutely No Sense

Over the last few weeks, Full House, that beloved late '80s-early '90s show about a dad, his daughters, and a bunch of maybe/maybe-not related others living in San Francisco, has been making a comeback. There have been cast reunions, Twitter conversations, and updates on who still hangs out. On Friday night, Jesse & the Rippers are reuniting on live TV for the first time since... ever. All of this is super exciting, and it's making us nostalgic for the days where the Olsen twins weren't crazy and "How rude!" reigned supreme. It also got us thinking about how 18 (!) years after the series finale, we still have some questions about the Tanner clan. Admit it: You wondered about these too. Image: ABC

10 Remaining Questions About 'Full House'

Image: ABC

1. Why did Joey even live there?

Seriously, what the hell was Joey doing there?! When Danny's wife died at the start of the show, it made sense (kind of... more on that later) that Jesse, his brother-in-law, moved in to help out. Joey, however, had no business staying in that house past two weeks. He spent most of his time in his room, playing with puppets, apparently a necessary pastime for his "comedy" act, but mostly just really, really creepy. Every few years, the writers would remember that Joey was supposed to be an adult, and so they'd have him date for an episode or two. Before long, though, he was back to imitating Bullwinkle and playing with Mr. Woodchuck. Image: ABC

2. Why did everyone hate Kimmy so much?

Poor Kimmy Gibbler. Sure, the girl was weird, and her feet probably did smell, but she was a TEENAGER. She was ridiculed by the Tanner family constantly, having to put up with their insults every time she walked into the house. It was fine that middle child Stephanie hated her, but for Danny and Jesse to call her stupid 24/7? That was just mean. Image: ABC

3. How much money did Danny really have?

Throughout the series, the Full House clan was frequently seen traveling across the country to Disney World, Hawaii, and even New Zealand (Stephanie and Michelle had a little confusion at the airport), all on Danny's dime. Repeatedly paying for nine plane tickets has got to get expensive, right? On top of this, Danny had to pay for a major home repair when Steph drove a car threw the kitchen, dance lessons for Steph (seriously, this kid), and college for three kids. How'd he have the money? I guess Wake Up, San Francisco! was a bigger deal than any of us thought. Image: ABC

4. Why did Jesse and Becky never move out?

It's sweet that Jesse moved in to the house to help Danny out after his wife died suddenly. Danny needed the help, and the girls loved him. Yet, by Season 2, Jesse had met his future wife, Becky, and in Season 4, they get married. That would have been the perfect time for Jesse to move out and for the couple to get their own house, right? Wrong. They stayed in that house until the end of the show, apparently under the impression that a cramped, stuffy attic was a great place to raise twins. Speaking of which... Image: ABC

5. Whatever happened to Nicky and Alex?

Since the end of the series, almost all of the stars have stayed in the spotlight, re-appearing on TV or showing up in the tabloids for anorexia and/or crystal meth. Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, however, who played Katsopolis twins Nicky and Alex, disappeared from the public eye the moment the finale aired. They're 22 now, and all the info we have about them comes from their Twitter

accounts.

6. Why wasn't Danny ever diagnosed with OCD?

Even the 8-year-olds watching the show realized something about Danny was very, very off. He called himself a "neat-freak," but viewers knew that his obsessive need to clean anything and everything, repeatedly, was less "Mr. Mom" and more "OCD." As for why none of his family members ever saw this as an issue is unknown. Image: ABC

7. Whatever happened to Gia?

We all know that Marla Sokoloff's done well since leaving Full House, but what about her character, Gia? The rebellious teen spent most of her time on the show peer pressuring Stephanie into smoking cigarettes and attending make-out parties (more on that next). By the end of the show, Gia seemed to have calmed down somewhat, but did her change in attitude stick? Did she get those grades up? Did her mom find a guy to date who wasn't Danny Tanner? So many questions. Image: ABC

8. What exactly is a make-out party?

At the beginning of Season 8, Gia invites Steph to a make-out party. Apparently, this was the term for a group of ninth-graders spending the night coupling up and making out with each other, all in the same room, until they got bored or had to leave to make curfew. Did anyone talk at these "parties?" Was anyone's parents home? Junior high is weird, guys. Image: ABC

9. Does DJ still have an eating disorder?

Stephanie may have been the kid with the most issues (peer pressure, abused friends, car accidents), but DJ had it rough too, y'all. She spent an entire episode of Season 4 suffering from an eating disorder, starving herself, and then passing out at the gym, all to look good in a bikini for Kimmy's pool party. You would think this would be a cause for concern by DJ's family, but after a talking-to and a group hug, the bout of anorexia is never spoken of again. [Image: ABC]

10. What did Steve ever see in DJ?

And lastly... what did Steve, DJ's on-again, off-again boyfriend for the last few seasons, ever see in her? Steve is a funny, likeable guy, and DJ is... DJ. She's a drama queen and a whiner, and she spends an inordinate amount of time brushing her bangs, when clearly, hair is not meant to be that big. Still, Steve loves her, reappearing in the series finale to take her to prom. Image: ABC
