Who's Busier This Summer: Kanye or Outkast?

by Aly Semigran

If you're an avid summer music festival goer, your dance card (or, more likely, twirling card or dubstepping card) is filling up pretty quickly. The San Francisco-set Outside Lands Festival, which takes place from Aug. 8 -10, announced their lineup today and it's jam-packed with some of today's biggest music acts, including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tegan & Sara, and The Killers, among many others. But one of headliners of Outside Lands is someone making himself pretty familiar on the music fest scene this summer: Kanye West.

West, who recently postponed his current Australian tour in order to work on his new album, is not only taking the main stage at Outside Lands, but he'll also be returning to Bonnaroo, despite a disastrous 2008 visit. The rapper is also slated to hit the overseas festivals, including Bråvalla in Norrköping and the Wireless Festival in Birmingham.

But West isn't the only big name draw at this summer's big music fests. The return of OutKast has proved to be one of the most anticipated acts this year. While the hip-hop duo won't be at Outside Lands, they will be the opening headliner at over 40 MUSIC FESTIVALS, including this weekend's Coachella in California.

So, solid effort, 2014 music festival frequenters Kanye West and Jack White (White will be headlining seven festivals this year, including New York City's Governor's Ball Festival which also features, you guessed it, OutKast), but you'll see more of Big Boi and Andre 3000 this summer than poorly constructed campsite tents and grossly brave mud pit divers.
