It's April 15, which means it's Emma Watson's birthday. (Yeah, I feel old hearing that, too. In my head she's still like 9 and playing bushy-haired Hermione.) In honor of the birthday girl's big day and in the hope that she lets loose and parties today, we've taken a trip down her craziest moments memory lane.
Though Watson is typically very proper—which we love because she's a great role model—we certainly don't expect, or want, her to be formal all the time. Fortunately she doesn't either. She's been quoted as saying, "I’ve probably earned the right to screw up a few times. I don’t want the fear of failure to stop me from doing what I really care about." So Emma, if you need some inspiration for how you should be acting for your birthday, take some advice from your crazy self:
1. GOING AFTER DANIEL IN THEIR KISSING SCENE
This was the most aggressive we'd seen her since she punched Draco Malfoy in the third movie. She is all up in Harry's business. Radcliffe later said of the kiss, "I thought it was going to be a kind of a slow, sensual thing, and Emma really went for it." Watson agreed saying, "I forgot how full-on it was until I saw the movie, and I was like, 'Blimey, where did that come from?'"
2. DANCING QUEEN
Emma Watson is a pretty good dancer and she certainly showed Jimmy Fallon up when she was on his show. Where did these movies come from? We don't know, but she should definitely bust them out to celebrate today.
3. POLE DANCING QUEEN
The whole Bling Ring movie was such a different side to Watson than we'd ever seen, but the craziest thing she did was pole dance. Girl's got skills.
4. ADMITTING TO HAVE GOTTEN DRUNK
She got a loud round of applause when she admitted to David Letterman that she had, in fact, been drunk before. We're sure she'll be drunk again to celebrate the big 24, so let's give her another round of applause.
5. CUSSING ON TELEVISION
Turns out Emma Watson has quite the mouth on her!
6. CUTTING ALL HER HAIR OFF
To mark the end of her years as Hermione, Watson chopped all her hair off. It was a move that shocked many. Everyone had an opinion on the new 'do and she didn't care one bit because she liked it.
7. THIS IS THE END
Watson played an ax-wielding version of herself who hit Seth Rogan in the face and then stole all their provisions. Watson said she took the role because "it just sounded crazy" and she had to do it.
So happy birthday Emma Watson! Time to party!
