Kate Middleton, Cate Blanchett, and January Jones Are All Wearing Roksanda Ilincic
There are just some famous faces who carry a little more weight when it comes to determining which pieces, trends, and designers are in or out in the style world. I'm talking ladies like Cate Blanchett, Beyoncé, and even (or especially) the Duchess herself, Kate Middleton. So when Kate the Great decides to make a very public arrival wearing a particular designer, it's pretty clear the designer is both in demand and totally of the moment.
That was definitely the case Wednesday when Middleton landed in Australia as part of the royal duo's multi-week trip Down Under sporting a brilliantly yellow Roksanda Ilincic dress. With its square-cut neckline and chic white panelling, the dress was a reminder of the beautiful color blocking Ilincic is known for, as well as the fact that she's the designer to wear right now. Don't believe me? Just take these 10 famous fans as all the proof you need.
Amy Adams
The Oscar-nominated actress kept it simple, structured, and elegant at the 2014 AFI Awards in her cap-sleeved, belted Roksanda Ilincic dress.
January Jones
Channeling a major warrior vibe at the Mad Men Season 7 premiere, Jones looked both bold and badass in her Ilincic design, which featured a formfitting, color-blocked bodice and draped, asymmetrical skirt.
Elizabeth Banks
Looking like a mod marvel, Banks showed off Ilincic’s bright side at a recent Listerine event when she shone in this delightful A-line, color-blocked frock.
Taylor Schilling
There may be no color blocking in sight, but Schilling’s structured burgundy dress — complete with leather paneling and dramatic sleeves — was a lesson in Ilincic’s craftsmanship and minimalist mastery.
Lily Allen
Ilincic loves to play with bright, bold colors like the in-your-face orange Allen sported at the 2014 NME Awards — a dress that’s tailored fit and black-and-white paneling meshed perfectly with the singer’s mod hair and makeup.
Jessica Paré
Showing off just a hint of color on her ruffled panel, this Mad Men star took Ilincic’s design to a new, beyond-sophisticated level when she paired the strapless dress with dangling earrings and Old Hollywood curls at this year’s PaleyFest.
Jena Malone
Ilincic doesn’t put many two-piece ensembles on the red carpet, but when she does— like with this draped blouse and high-waist trousers combo Malone wore to Vanity Fair’s “Young Hollywood Celebration” — it looks every bit as chic and edgy as her dressier designs.
Ashley Madekwe
Madekwe brought out her summer style early this year, showing up to InStyle’s Golden Globes party in this floor-length, strapless stunner in hues of pastel orange, electric pink, and bright yellow.
Natalie Dormer
The Game of Thrones star looked casual-cool at a pre-BAFTAs party in February when she sported this laid-back Ilincic design that featured a relaxed, short-sleeved bodice and a pop-of-color midi skirt.
