Who Was Supposed to Be 'Mean Girls' Aaron Samuels? Jonathan Bennett Wasn't The First Choice

With the 10-year anniversary of Mean Girls just around the corner, we can't get enough of reminiscing about the best teen flick of the decade. Recently, Cosmopolitan sat down with everyone's favorite "too-gay-to-function" high school student Damian (aka actor Daniel Franzese) who shared some juicy gossip about the movie. Franzese revealed that Mean Girls may have looked a little bit different had a certain actor behaved himself at the table read.

In his interview with Cosmopolitan.com, Franzese talked a little bit about his audition for the role of Damian, which happened over dinner with Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels and some of the members of the cast. Lacey Chabert, Lindsay Lohan, and Jonathan Bennett, who played Aaron Samuels in the film, were also at the dinner. At the time, both Bennett and Franzese weren't cast yet — a different actor was cast in the role of Samuels. Unfortunately, that actor played it way too "cool," and refused to take off his hat when asked — which lead to his dismissal. The most interesting bit? This actor was, Franzese says, someone we all would have recognized. According to Franzese, the actor "has worked consistently," and is "someone you would have known."

Hmm... someone we would have known? Interesting. Though I can't imagine anyone but Jonathan Bennett playing Aaron Samuels, I have my speculations as to who this actor could have been. It's just speculation of course, but these guys would definitely have fit the bill.
