Is He a Good Match for Khloe?

by Kadeen Griffiths

Perhaps the most surprising thing about Khloe Kardashian dating French Montana is that we have to wonder if Khloe Kardashian is dating French Montana. Khloe Kardashian is part of a family who has built a whole career out of letting video cameras follow them around as they go about their daily lives. When not on camera, they spend most of their time on camera — either through the lens of a paparazzi shot or through their own Instagrams and Twitters. The fact that Khloe Kardashian is dating French Montana and not talking about it is news in and of itself. Are they saving any information about their relationship for the premiere of Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons?

Kardashian's hesitance to define whatever is going on between her and Montana makes sense. After all, she only filed for divorce from Lamar Odom in December and they got married a month after they met. No one can blame her for wanting to take it slow with someone new. As for her rumored beau, it can only reflect well on him that he's not eager to give interview after interview about his possible feelings for Kardashian. French Montana is less of a household name than Khloe Kardashian, but there are a few things about him that make him a really good match for Kardashian.

1. He's Moroccan.

French Montana was born Karim Kharbouch in Rabat, Morocco and was raised outside of Casablanca for the first thirteen years of his life. Yes, that Casablanca. Potential goldmine of romantic parodies aside, the Kardashians are known for celebrating their heritage and bringing Armenia to the forefront of America's mind. Montana having a similarly unique background (as well as being trilingual) would be great for Khloe, especially since she loves to travel.

2. He Makes Ample Use of Twitter and Instagram.

Comparing Montana's Twitter to Kardashian's just reveals a neverending loop of random tweets and Instagram links between the two of them. One of his recent Instagram photos is a selfie of himself on a plane. Gee, I wonder who he might know who also has a fondness for selfies.

3. He's a Rapper.

Montana is signed to P. Diddy's Bad Boy Records and has worked with such big names in the industry as Macklemore, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Snoop Dogg. One of his songs was even remixed by Miley Cyrus. Back when the Kardashian-Odom divorce was still too fresh, Kardashian was rumored to be dating the rapper The Game. While there was compelling evidence in the form of a video of the two of them grinding, the rumor turned out to be nothing more than that. Still, it could mean she has a type that she gravitates toward.

4. He Gets Along With Her Sisters.

One of the sightings of Montana and Kardashian was on an alleged double date with Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick. Montana might not be officially the new man in Khloe Kardashian's life, but if he's already going on intimate outings with more than one Kardashian then it seems like only a matter of time before he's integrated into the whole family — if he hasn't been already.

5. They Both Know Nicki Minaj.

French Montana collaborated with Nicki Minaj for the song "Freaks" on his debut album, Excuse My French. Minaj has hung out with the Kardashians before, backstage at a Drake concert in 2013. It's a relatively small connection, but it just means the next Montana and Minaj collaboration could be a love song for Kardashian. Hopefully one with a little more taste than the one Kanye West wrote about Kim.

6. He's Been Through Divorce.

Like Kardashian, Montana has been married and divorced before. He married a woman named Deen Kharbouch in 2007 and they had a son two years later. They divorced in 2012 and Montana said in a 2012 interview that "[being a father] inspires me to go harder". Kardashian didn't have any children with Odom prior to their divorce, but if anyone can understand what a difficult time she has gone through and is likely still going through, it's Montana.

7. He's into Fashion.

French Montana has an interesting sense of style. He's known for being able to wear the craziest things and somehow manage to pull them off. He was even quoted in GQ as saying, "I have been a fan of Versace for so long, watching people like Biggie, Puff, Jay Z. I've been collecting them for a while now." Kim Kardashian might be more known as a style icon than Khloe Kardashian, but she still knows how to put together a stylish outfit.
