Some foods have a purpose, like boosting your energy or improving your health. But I believe food's greatest purpose is being delicious, and if there exists one dish whose sole purpose is to be awesome, it's the side dish.

Side dishes can be anything from veggies to fries to spring rolls — they just have to be placed to the side of your dish (duh!) and they have to be tasty (but that's obvious). I found 11 side dishes (fried Brussels sprouts! Buffalo oven fries!) that are bound to be even more delicious than the main entree.
