This Show's Got Some Big Names Joining

by Mallory Schlossberg

So, it looks like Jay Leno and Whoopi Goldberg will lend their voices to The 7D , which is Disney's contemporary, comedic adaptation of our beloved seven dwarves who helped Snow White meet her destiny. Sounds like a great movie cast, right? Think again: it's a television series. Not only that, it's a weekday morning cartoon.

They're set to play recurring characters, as Goldberg will voice The Magic Mirror and Leno will voice The Crystal Ball. They'll be joining a cast that includes Kelly Osbourne who will play the villainess Hildy Gloom, Jess Harnell, Leigh-Allyn Baker, and Maurice LaMarche, whose voice you may be familiar with from his Pinky and The Brain days. It's a pretty stellar list of voiceover actors for a series that's airing on a Monday morning, when the people who would recognize Leno and Goldberg's voices — the parents who would of the kids watching the show — will likely be at work.

The series will debut on Disney XD on July 7 at 10 a.m., and it will premiere on Disney Junior and the Disney Channel later in the year. It will be set in the modern-day world of Jollywood, and it will chronicle the adventures of the famous seven: Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Doc, Sneezy, Dopey and Grumpy as they work together to keep the magical land in order. In other words, hi-ho!

I mean, with these two stars added to the cast list, high-profile-ho!
