Rejoice 90s kids! 'Duck Tales' Theme Meets 90s R&B

by Emma Cueto

You know you're a true 90s kid if you remember being glued to the television during episodes of Duck Tales, watching Darkwing Duck fumble his way through Duckburg, saving the day (with lots of help). And because the world loves you, there now exists a version of the theme song done in the style of 90s R&B. And it. Is. Awesome.

The video is brought to you by the same people responsible for Postmodern Jukebox, a project that takes modern music and re-imagines the songs from another era. (Incidentally, you have not lived until you've heard Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love" done 1940s big band-style). And now they are branching into Saturday morning cartoon theme songs with their new project Saturday Morning Slow Jams.

So rejoice, 90s kids! Your favorite theme songs from your childhood are now coming back in a form that suits your grown-up music tastes! At least if your grown-up music tastes include 90s R&B, which it really should.

Saturday Morning Slow Jams will be releasing a new video every Saturday. They've already done Pokemon 's theme and a week later have followed up with the theme to Duck Tales. Darkwing Duck would probably be either befuddled or outraged, but the rest of us couldn't be more thrilled.
