She's Your New Favorite 'Hollywood Ex'

by Jess Goodwin

Ever wonder what happens to the Real Housewives after they get divorced? VH1's Hollywood Exes , that's what. Season 3 of the reality show starts Wednesday night, bringing with it a bonafide beauty queen. New Hollywood Ex Shanna Moakler, who was married to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker from 2004-2008, joins an all-star-ex-wife lineup of Nicole Murphy (ex to Eddie Murphy), Sheree Fletcher (ex to Will Smith), Jessica Canseco (ex to Jose Canseco), Andrea Kelly (ex to R. Kelly), Mayte Garcia (ex to Prince), and Shamicka Lawrence (ex to Martin Lawrence) for another season of reality antics.

So what exactly do we know about Moakler? She's certainly got an interesting history, so let's get to know the former Mrs. Travis Barker.

She's Beauty and She's Grace, She's Miss United States... Sort Of

Though officially listed as Miss USA 1995, Moakler was originally crowned first runner-up to Chelsi Smith's first place. It was only after Smith won Miss Universe — and became unable to fulfill the responsibilities of Miss USA — that Moakler was upgraded to Miss USA.

She Supports Gay Rights

During the Miss USA 2009 pageant, Miss California Carrie Prejean announced to the world that she felt marriage should stay between a man and a woman. In response, Moakler appeared alongside Perez Hilton (who thought Prejean could have taken home the crown had she not slammed gay marriage) and Tila Tequila in a No H8 PSA against Prop 8.

She Dated Other Famous Dudes Before Marrying Barker

In addition to dating an unknown ex of Hollywood Exes costar Garcia, in 1997, Moakler dated Billy Idol, but sadly, there was to be no white wedding for the two (or even an off-white wedding).

Later that year she started seeing boxer Oscar De La Hoya, and in 1999 they got engaged before the birth of their daughter Atiana — but never made it down the aisle. Moakler called off the relationship after watching De La Hoya escort another woman to the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards. Shortly after, Dennis Quaid (who himself is no stranger to famous exes) became celebrity beau number three in 2001.

She's Got Acting Chops

She actually appeared alongside boo-at-the-time Idol in 1997's The Wedding Singer , as the flight attendant who gets hit on by Julia's fiance Roy. Moakler also starred in two seasons of Pacific Blue as Officer Monica Harper and has had guest spots in a slew of other movies and TV shows, including Joey, Entourage, and Big Momma's House 2.

Hollywood Exes Isn't Her First Time at the Reality TV Rodeo

While she and Barker were still married, they starred in the MTV reality show Meet the Barkers from April 2005 to February 2006 — just half a year before Barker filed for divorce. Moakler also hosted E!'s rightfully short-lived Bridalplasty in 2011.
