Patton Oswalt Knows 'Star Wars', Not Shakira

by Aly Semigran

Actor/comedian Patton Oswalt is nothing short of a pop culture maven. Whether he's live-tweeting Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey, giving incredible Star Wars -inspired filibusters on Parks and Recreation , hilariously parodying True Detective , Oswalt truly knows his stuff and knows how to make us all laugh while doing it. From his stand-up routines (which take on everything from the theme of every Jennifer Aniston rom-com to hearing Toto songs at the grocery store) and Twitter alone, Oswalt has become the hilarious leader of the pop culture savvy. Well... that was until Billy Eichner came into the picture. Not only can Eichner rival Oswalt in sheer volume (literally and figuratively) of love and knowledge of entertainment, but the viral star (whose guests this season have already included Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Lena Dunham, and Lindsay Lohan, among others) finally stumped him. And all it took was some very obscure, totally subjective questions about things Shakira may or may not know.

In a clip from Wednesday night's new episode of Billy on the Street, Eichner welcomes Oswalt (a self-proclaimed long-time fan of Eichner's in-your-face routine) for a round of an exciting new game called "Does Shakira Know What This Is?" The game -- which is surprisingly tough by Billy on the Street standards and could rival Will Ferrell's round of "Would Drew Barrymore Like That?" -- reveals that The Voice coach knows what Hot Pockets are, but doesn't know what Wisconsin is. Who knew?! Not Patton Oswalt... and probably not even Shakira for that matter.

The game is a riot to watch, especially when Eichner and Oswalt squabble over what they think Shakira has an awareness of (they disagree on whether she knows what traffic cones are) but make sure you watch the entire clip to see Eichner flip out about the injustice of Oswalt's Pixar film Ratatouille is underrated and unappreciated. ("F**k Finding Nemo!" he screams at one point.) It also provides a moment as satisfying as stumping Patton Oswalt: making him break. (Eichner gets Oswalt to crack about his Ratatouille rage around the 2:30 mark.) Watch it here:
