It’s no secret that Lohan has had her fair share of struggles over the years, and sadly, so did her style in the wake of her Hollywood fallout. Wearing progressively more questionable ensembles that ranged from in-your-face glam — i.e. this gold Versace number — to downright puzzling, the troubled star had few red-carpet hits among the many style misses.

Fortunately (despite rumors to the contrary), the actress seems to have cleaned up her act — and her wardrobe — as of late. From figure-flattering LBDs to attention-grabbing, piano-key frocks, it looks like Lohan’s sense of style is finally on the up and up.

McAdams had no problem translating her instant Mean Girls fame into success in both the relationship (hello, Ryan Gosling!) and wardrobe departments. Launching straight into a string of chic and polished red-carpet ensembles, McAdams was undoubtedly the biggest style star to come out of the beloved film.

Not only did the actress have a string of big film releases after starring in Mean Girls (including The Notebook , The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Sherlock Holmes), but she also made a name for herself as a continually glamorous star on the red carpet, particularly with this memorable Elie Saab Haute Couture gown from the 2010 Oscars.

Though still feminine and chic, McAdams has gotten progressively edgier on the red carpet as the years go by, whether she’s sporting structured, cut-out minis or minimalist, white gowns.

Seyfried’s red carpet style didn’t start out as anything particularly impressive, with her habit of choosing slinky, not-so-flattering cuts in OK-but-boring, monochromatic hues. Fortunately for us all, it could only go up from here.

After falling off the red carpet radar for quite a few years, Caplan came back stronger than ever to promote her new film Bachelorette, choosing fabulous floral frocks, ’20s-inspired gowns, and this sexy leather number at a 2012 premiere.

As the years go by, it’s becoming clearer than ever that Caplan may have had the most surprising style evolution of anyone in the Mean Girls cast. The Masters of Sex star has quickly become one of the most polished and high-fashion TV stars on the red carpet, pulling off couture designs from Emilio Pucci and Reem Acra with ease.
