Peaches Geldof Died of a Heroin Overdose — REPORT

After initial toxicology reports deemed Peaches Geldof's death inconclusive, U.K.'s The Times is reporting that the presenter and model's sudden passing in early April is being ruled a heroin overdose. It's a particularly tragic ending for the 25-year-old television presenter, model, and journalist, whose own mother, Paula Yates, died in the exact same way at the age of 41 in 2000. The daughter of Yates — a popular television personality from Wales — and Bob Geldof — singer/songwriter and noted activist — was found dead in her Kent home on April 7th, her 11-month-old son was said to also be home at the time. Geldof was laid to rest less than two weeks ago on April 21st in a private service open only to family and friends.

The news comes after initial findings by local police deemed the death simultaneously deemed non-suspicious but sudden and unexplained. It is said that, given the lack of narcotic evidence around the house, that police believe someone may have swept the house prior to reporting the death. This, coupled with the official ruling that her death was an overdose, will likely result in an inquest by the North West Kent coroner's office — Roger Hatch — set to be announced on Thursday, May 1st; a date for which will likely be set for "some time in late July," a spokesman explained to The Daily Mail.
