Hot Mama Alert!

by Mary Avant

Oh, to live the life of Olivia Wilde. The drop-dead-gorgeous star — who, in 2009, was named Maxim’s Hottest Woman Alive and was once married to a real, live prince — is supremely gifted, amazingly smart and witty, engaged to one of the funniest men around, and has one of the best style senses in Hollywood (and a versatile one, at that).

In case you still had any doubts that the 30-year-old actress is practically an in-the-flesh superhero, she laid them to rest for good Thursday evening at the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Gala when she showed up a week — yes, just one week — after giving birth to her adorable first child, son Otis Alexander Sudeikis. Hitting the red carpet alongside handsome fiancé and new dad Jason Sudeikis, Wilde took a casual approach to her event wardrobe, somehow managing to look laid-back, put together, and enviously stylish all at once.

Dressed in a basic white tee, charcoal gray boyfriend blazer, and pair of cropped black denim, Wilde nailed a casual-chic ensemble on the red carpet. Pairing the look with metallic-embellished black pumps, a long pendant necklace, a fresh face, and no-fuss hair, the new mom looked better dressed down (and probably suffering from a major lack of sleep!) than some stars do on even their best days.

Though Wilde's return to the red carpet certainly had my full attention, a handful of other stars were dressed to impress in their casual finest at the annual event, too. Late-night host Chelsea Handler — who is reportedly in talks for her very own Netflix series — kept it effortlessly cool in a patterned blouse, black denim, and nude pumps, while fellow funny lady Amy Schumer looked ultra-sophisticated in a wide-strap, figure-flattering LBD, which she paired with barrel curls and white pumps.

Ms. Foundation co-founder and feminist icon Gloria Steinem stunned in a beautifully patterned and gold-trimmed sari, while actress Gabourey Sidibe dressed things up in a red-hot, V-neck dress in an of-the-moment midi length.

Wilde may be starting slow and casual (in the most gorgeous way possible) with her post-baby red-carpet wardrobe, but if she already looks this good this fast, the best of her style has yet to come.
