She Beat Both Taylor Swift and Luke Bryan?

by Aly Semigran

Miranda Lambert has all but solidified her position as the reigning queen of country music: Lambert leads the 2014 CMT Awards nominations. The country crooner, who has six nominations total, has a combination of nominated solo songs ("Automatic" is up for both Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year) and collaborations, including one with her husband Blake Shelton and her all-female band Pistol Annies (for their song "Boys 'Round Here" which is up for Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year).

Lambert is not only the most-nominated female for this year's CMT Awards, but she's the most-nominated artist, period. Trailing Lambert are Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line, with five nominations each, and Keith Urban and Taylor Swift, with four nominations each.

While Lambert -- who won Female Vocalist of the Year in 2013 -- has the advantage because of her multiple collaborations, including the nominated "We Were Us" with Keith Urban, she's proved she can stand tall on her own in the industry. Since 2005, the country superstar has released four albums, all of which have gone platinum. Her new album -- titled fittingly enough, Platinum -- will be released on June 3, one day before the ceremony. The 2014 CMT Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 4 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena at 8 p.m. (No hosts have been named yet for the event, and while Lambert will likely take the stage at least once, it probably won't be as emcee.)
