She's About to Take On 'The Longest Ride'

by Kenya Foy

The film adaptation of Nicholas' Sparks 2013 romance novel The Longest Ride has made yet another stride towards onscreen fruition. Last week actor Scott Eastwood was cast in the film, nabbing his first major studio leading role as Luke Collins, a young cowboy who finds love. And now according to reports, The Secret Circle and Under the Dome actress Britt Robertson will officially take on the role of Collins' love interest, college student Sophia Danko. The movie simultaneously explores the romance that takes place between Collins and Danko, all while revisiting the memories of a 91-year-old man thinking back on the love of his life as he lies trapped in the wreckage of a car crash.

The 2015 release date for the George Tillman Jr.-directed film adds to the irons in Robertson's already bustling film fire, as she's currently working on Cake with Jennifer Aniston and is also slated to share the big screen with George Clooney in the Disney film Tomorrowland, both of which are set for release next year. The list of the Young Artist Award nominee's recent films includes the not-yet-released indie flick Undiscovered Gyrl, 2013's Delivery Man, and 2012's teen romantic comedy The First Time.
