When Is Chelsea Clinton Due?

by Kaitlin Reilly

It's an exciting year for the former First Daughter. Chelsea Clinton announced just last month at a Clinton Foundation event that she and her husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting their first child, and some people are abuzz with the news that a new Clinton baby on the way. Grandparents-to-be Bill and Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to celebrate the good news, with Bill Clinton adding that he's overjoyed to add "grandfather-to-be" to his Twitter bio. (Aww.) Of course, no one is more excited than Clinton herself, who had this to say about her expanding family to Glamour later last year:

We want, God willing, to start a family. So we decided we were going to make 2014 the Year of the Baby. And please, call my mother and tell her that. She asks us about it every single day.

So when can we expect Clinton's first child to arrive? Clinton hasn't yet announced a due date, but based on her announcement, we can speculate a time frame. Clinton and Mezvinsky announced Clinton's pregnancy on April 17. Typically parents wait at least two months before announcing a pregnancy to friends and family (or, in Clinton and Mezvinsky's case, the entire world). If that's the case with Clinton, then her due date would be roughly late October to early November.

Of course, this is pure speculation — we won't know when Clinton is due for sure unless she decides to share that information with the world. Either way, a big congrats is due to the happy couple — we hope they enjoy this "Year of the Baby."

Disclosure: Chelsea Clinton's husband Marc Mezvinsky joined Social Capital, an investor in Bustle Digital Group, in mid 2017 and joined the Board of Bustle Digital Group in early 2018.
