Rev. Run Shows What He's Got Cooking On New Show

by Kenya Foy

Anyone wanna guess which chinchilla rockin' reverend is making his way back to reality TV? For those who didn't get it, shame on you for a) doubting this combination actually exists and b) for thinking of anyone other than hip hop pioneer turned man of the cloth, Rev. Run. In in the interim, we've kept up with the reverend's words of wisdom on Twitter, but I liked hearing his voiceover as he closed out each episode of Run's House by settling into what always looked like best bubble bath ever. But fret not-- the reverend and his family are set to star in Sunday Suppers , a new reality show on the Cooking Channel.

If Sunday Suppers is anything like Run's House , we can expect another quality, family-themed show. Besides, every now and again a girl needs to detox from shows dominated by hair-pulling, tragic attempts at singing careers and fake storylines. Another reason to look forward to Suppers is we get to catch up with the Simmons kids, who have grown up a lot since we last saw them on MTV.

There's Angela, who's become a staple on the fashion scene and magazine covers, and of course Diggy's morphed into a total teen heartthrob, making music moves with the release of a new single. Plus, Rev. Run's other daughter Vanessa just had a baby. Hopefully things are back on track with big brother JoJo and we'll get to see how things are coming along with Justine and baby girl Miley. I'm kinda sad that Russy is way too old for me to pinch his cheeks, but he was always my favorite-- when he wasn't losing or destroying his Game Boy. I'll definitely be tuning in to see if he still stirs the pot-- on and off the stove.
