Will Britney Spears Continue Her Las Vegas Show?

by Emma Goddard

When Britney Spears is the main singing act for your business, there’s no way in hell that you’d want to let her go. That’s why Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Axis theater offered Spears $12 million to extend her two-year show, according to New York Daily News. Spears, who has already been performing in Las Vegas for some time, is coming close to extending her Las Vegas residency show, Britney Spears: Piece of Me. If Spears chooses to accept the deal with Caesars Entertainment, this means she will remain in the city until December 2016. To put this in better perspective, the mom of two has already been in Sin City since Dec. 27, 2013.

Though Spears doesn’t actually sing during her shows (I know, right?), each one is 90 minutes long and she is supposed to perform 50 shows per year in 2014 and 2015. Even with all of her pop star experience, that seems like a lot for this mama.

Yet with all the work that likely goes into performing her shows so often (minus the lip syncing that is), Spears is already taking home a fat paycheck, reportedly earning $30 million over two years. Yes, $30 million. And unsurprisingly, her fans are paying up to $300 just to see her dance in extravagant costumes on an equally extravagant stage.

Though the extension will of course be beneficial to both Spears and to Caesars Entertainment, it’ll be interesting to see if the singer will actually want to add on to her already-hectic schedule.
