The First 'Mockingjay' Photos Are Here!

Finally, we have some actual Hunger Games news that isn't just another gif-able Jennifer Lawrence moment. Though the series' next film is still six months away, Lionsgate has released the first official photos from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1. But there's a catch. Revealed on a website dedicated to the film, the six stills take the attention away from The Hunger Games' younger protagonists, like Katniss, Peeta, and Gale, and instead focus on the adult characters who all serve important functions in the trilogy's final book, which has been split into two films.

While none of the photos include any returning tributes, such as Finnick or Johanna, they do give us a first look at new characters and revisit some of the recurring authority figures, including Philip Seymour Hoffman's Plutarch Heavensbee. In the sole photo featuring Hoffman, he is sitting alongside Julianna Moore's Alma Coin, who will be introduced in Mockingjay—Part 1. Moore also gets her own character portrait, replacing her trademark red hair with Coin's signature grey.

In addition to Moore and Hoffman, the stills show Woody Harrelson as a serious-looking Haymitch, Jeffrey Wright's return as Beetee, and some behind-the-scenes photos. In one, director Francis Lawrence speaks with Mahershala Ali, who will play Boggs, while another features Lawrence alongside screenwriter Peter Craig and producer Nina Jacobson.

Check out the photos below to hold you over until we finally get a look at Katniss, Peeta, and the other main characters.
